Blockchain is not an homogeneous technology, but rather a family of technologies, - more accurately called DLT "Distributed Ledger technologies" - with similar properties, which yield common benefits.

We will review these essential properties, some key design choices of the two famous initial implementations, Bitcoin and Ethereum and their current limitations, which prevent scaling.

We will then explore some alternatives, which are being currently developed by a plethora of start-ups and consortia, at various maturity stages : Hyperledger Fabric, Ripple, Corda, Neo, Tezos, Hashgraph, IOTA, Bluzelle, etc. We will also discuss the current level of security of blockchains.

During this interactive workshop, our special guest Dan Duong will help you understand better, the intricacies of Blockchain.

This session will be designed by you, and for you, in order to meet your specific needs and to answer your questions.

After registration, please send us 5 questions/challenges that you are facing regarding Blockchain at Guillaume RENAUD:

About the Speaker:

Dan Duong

Dan is a technology expert, who has been working as a serial tech-entrepreneur for the past 10 years in three startups, and as an Innovation and Technology Consultant.

As co-founder and CTO of ZYKEN, he has developed NightCove, one of the first IoT connected devices in the e-Health/Wellness sector. ZYKEN rose 3.5 M USD in seed funding, before being acquired by WITHINGS, now part of NOKIA HEALTH.

He then founded TOP HAT VOYAGE, which provides innovative services to the hospitality industry. The project derives from the smart city concept and builds a digital network connecting the actors - travellers, hotels, suppliers - in this industry.

He now acts as CTO, which develops a blockchain-based platform to facilitate financing of Renewable Energy projects.

Prior to his entrepreneurship experience, Dan has occupied several R&D positions in two hi-tech MNCs, driving innovative product development and leading large development teams.
