General News"US$4b worth of ICT deals to be inked at CommunicAsia 2012"13.06.2012Source: Channel News Asia More innovative mobile technologies are slated to be unveiled at this year's CommunicAsia, which kicks off next Tuesday at Marina Bay Sands.
Organisers said there'll be more than 1,200 exhibitors, 80 per cent of which are from overseas. Two hundred exhibitors are taking part for the first time to launch their latest products.
The four-day trade event, which will be held alongside BroadcastAsia, is expected to draw about 53,000 participants.
There are indications that the number of deals to be inked may top the number of transactions made at last year's show.
So far, 17,000 pre-registered guests have signalled that they are prepared to spend some US$4 billion, compared with last year's US$3.9 billion.
Agnes Leung, senior project manager with organiser Singapore Exhibition Services, said, "Mobile technologies is definitely one of the focus this year, with ease of access to the mobile platforms.
"When we talk about mobile, it is no longer just about the device, voice communications, but includes other mobile technologies covering mobile security, mobile health, mobile payment and mobile commerce." Past news
