Singapore Fashion Week celebrates women with a power line-up featuring the world’s most iconic women designers, Asian highlights and Singapore’s homegrown talents
Singapore’s premier fashion event claims the iconic name Singapore Fashion Week (SFW) and returns with a stellar line-up of world-class designers, top international celebrities and exciting homegrown designers and labels. Building on eight successful editions as a consumer-centric fashion festival, SFW broadens its scope to include thought-leadership initiatives and industry development. At the heart of this new direction is the fashion week’s global strategic alliance with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) as well as the introduction of Fashion Futures, a business-focused internationalisation and talent development programme for Singapore Designers, and SFW Fashion Talk Series, a series of thought-leadership and industry talks organised in partnership with LASALLE College of the Arts.
This year, SFW celebrates women designers, both emerging and established, and is proud to welcome some of fashion’s strongest and most inspiring women. Joining iconic designer and President of the CFDA, Diane von Furstenberg at SFW is style icon and acclaimed designer, Victoria Beckham. Oscar-winning actress and SK-II ambassador Cate Blanchett as well as South Korean superstar and L’Oréal Professionnel brand spokesperson Yoon Eun Hye lend a touch of glamour to the star-studded mega-event. Style maven and founder of Buro 24/7 Miroslava Duma will also be in attendance with New York fashion darling, Thakoon Panichgul, adding to the stellar line-up.
“Claiming the iconic name Singapore Fashion Week comes with the responsibility to push Singapore Fashion even further; to develop Singapore’s fashion industry, to create an environment where Singapore designers can learn from the best in fashion, and more importantly, to build an ecosystem of mentorship where Singapore designers, both established and emerging, can share their experience and nurture the next generation of designers. I’ve always believed that we can one day be the fashion capital of Asia and I’m really excited that we are taking a giant step closer to this goal this year,” says Ms Tjin Lee, Chairman of SFW. “We’re thrilled to be back this year with some of fashion’s biggest names, Hollywood celebrities and influential fashion icons as we continue to be the only fashion week in the world that features established and emerging regional and homegrown designers alongside the world's most iconic names in fashion.”
