This fireside chat offers a unique opportunity for an up-close conversation with Mr Lim Kok Thai, CEO of Singapore Food Agency (SFA).

 

Join us for a dialogue with Mr Lim Kok Thai, CEO of Singapore Food Agency (SFA).

As the lead agency for food-related matters, the SFA’s mission is to ensure and secure a supply of safe food for Singapore. SFA works hand-in-hand with the industry and consumers to grow Singapore’s three “food baskets” – Diversify import sources, Grow local, and Grow overseas, as well as ensure food safety from farm-to-fork.

SFA also partners food businesses to strengthen capabilities, tap on technologies to raise productivity, undertake research to develop new lines of business, and catalyse industry transformation to ensure food security.

The dialogue will be moderated by Jean-Yves Broussy, co-president of the Agri-Food Innovation Committee at the French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore.

This event is jointly organised with The Conseillers du Commerce extérieur de la France (French Foreign Trade Advisors ).

 

PROGRAMME : 

From 1.30 pm : Registration and welcoming attendees.

2.00 pm : Introductory remarks by Jean-Yves Broussy  and Olivier Gergele co-presidents of the Agri-Food Innovation Committee at the French Chamber.

2.10- 2.30 pm : A presentation on “Singapore’s Food Security Policies and Priorities” by SFA.

2.30- 3:30 pm : Fireside chat between Mr Lim Kok Thai and the moderator Jean-Yves Broussy and with questions taken from the Audience.

From 3.30 pm : Networking session (if allowed) 

 

About the speaker:

Mr Lim Kok Thai was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Singapore Food Agency on 1 April 2019, a new statutory board established under the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources to oversee food safety and food security. SFA brings together food-related functions previously carried out by the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA), the National Environment Agency (NEA) and the Health Sciences Authority (HSA).

Prior to assuming the post of CEO, SFA, Mr Lim was the CEO of AVA from 1 October 2017. The AVA was the national authority entrusted with the mission to ensure a resilient supply of safe food, safeguard the health of animals, fish and plants, as well as facilitate agri-trade for Singapore.

Mr Lim joined AVA from the Singapore Police Force (SPF), where he held various key appointments including Deputy Commissioner of Police (Policy), Director Operations and Commander of Bedok Police Division.
