This session aims to provide valuable insights on recent competition law developments in the region, and to discuss common issues encountered and good business practices. Dominique Lombardi, Partner at Rajah & Tann, and Sharene Tan, Director Legal Affairs at Essilor AMERA, will share their experience, with candid examples and tips during the session which is intended to be interactive, practical and business-oriented!

About the speakers

Mrs Dominique Lombardi, Partner, Rajah & Tann

Dominique Lombardi is the Deputy Head of Rajah & Tann Singapore LLP’s Competition & Antitrust and Trade Practice. A Foreign Lawyer, she has extensive experience in European competition and antitrust laws and regulatory issues. Having spent more than a decade in Asia, she has acquired an intimate knowledge of competition regimes in the region and brings to the Practice a unique dual European/Asian approach. Dominique has worked both in private practice and as an in-house lawyer with her expertise covering all aspects of competition/antitrust law - merger control, international cartels, vertical restraints, abusive conduct - as well as deregulation law.

Separately, Dominique is an Adjunct Lecturer at Sorbonne Assas International Law School - Asia, where she lectures on European Competition Law.

Dominique has been appointed as a French Foreign Trade Advisor since 2011. In 2018, Dominique was conferred Knight of the French National Order of Merit.

Mrs Sharene Tan, Director Legal Affairs, Essilor AMERA

Sharene is the Director Legal Affairs for Essilor Amera Pte Ltd, based in Singapore. Essilor is the worldwide leader of manufacturing and distribution of optical lenses. Essilor completed its combination with Luxottica in October 2018. The EssilorLuxottica Group is listed in the Euronext NYSE stock exchange in Paris and part of the “CAC 40” index.

Singapore is the regional headquarters for Essilor’s business in the Asia Pacific, Middle East, Russia, Africa region.

Sharene has more than 15 years’ professional experience gathered from both private practice and in-house, and is both a Singapore and UK qualified lawyer. She was also tasked as part of a ‘clean team’ to support the anti-trust filings relating to Essilor-Luxottica combination in this region.
