On Thursday 17 September, Maxime Cassat, Managing Director of EDF Lab, will give a presentation on Climate Change, Energy and Innovation.

Despite the pandemics, it is in everyone’s minds that Climate Change remain a major threat to our society. While fossil energy is still largely the fuel of our modern economies, the Big Shift has started with entire continents targeting Carbon Neutrality by 2050. What is really the threat? What is energy used for? Are our infrastructures and economies ready to phase-out of fossil fuels, while some still have no access to electricity? How innovation can be leveraged? Through the eyes of a worldwide power utility, we’ll see challenges and opportunities lying ahead, with a particular focus on Asia in domains such as transport, urbanization, and industry.

Composed of a dozen of researchers and engineers, EDF Lab Singapore, one of the nine EDF R&D centres in the world, was established in 2015 to develop and explore solutions in support of sustainable cities and access to affordable and low carbon electricity. Working with the Singaporean government and universities, EDF Lab Singapore is rooting a strong expertise adapted to the Singaporean and South-East Asian context.
