Past Event | CSR Club: Climate Change Adaptation Masterclass

With Minister Grace Fu declaring 2026 the Year of Climate Adaptation, the French Chamber of Commerce hosted an exclusive Masterclass led by Sustainao to help business leaders move beyond carbon reductions and embed physical climate resilience directly into corporate strategy.
While net-zero mitigation targets dominate headlines, adaptation remains a major corporate blind spot - only one in five businesses are prepared for the real-world consequences of climate change. For companies in APAC, the stakes are critical with Singapore’s projected temperature spikes, intense rainfall, and rising sea levels.
To navigate this, the masterclass focused on three core areas:
The Strategy Shift: Attendees learnt about live mapping tools to analyze how localized physical risks threaten their specific corporate assets and supply chains.
Actionable Frameworks: Sustainao introduced a dynamic Decision-Tree for Timing Implementation (WBCSD framework) to help leaders immediately map next steps into four clear pathways.
Competitive Advantage: The session highlighted that proactive adaptation is a powerful market discriminator. Building documented physical resilience lowers the cost of capital from ESG investors, securing better insurance terms, and protecting preferred partner status in global corporate supply chains.
A warm thank you to Ivona BALINT-KOWALCZYK, founder of Sustainao, for facilitating this masterclass.
