Past Event | Building Skills for Constructive Conflict Management

The fifth session of the FCCS Training Academy focused on constructive conflict management, featuring a hands-on session led by Hélène Bertoneche, Executive Coach at Get Ahead Leadership.
In fast-moving professional environments, conflict is inevitable: competing priorities, operational pressure, cultural differences, and unspoken tensions frequently arise within teams. This session highlighted that the real differentiator is not the presence of conflict itself, but the ability of leaders to handle it with awareness and intention.
The workshop equipped managers and leaders with practical tools, self-awareness, and confidence to shift from reactive responses to more intentional and constructive approaches. Participants explored their personal conflict styles, identified emotional triggers, and learned structured frameworks to navigate difficult conversations with greater clarity, empathy, and effectiveness.
Key Takeaways
- Understanding different conflict styles and when to adapt them
- Recognizing emotional triggers and managing pressure responses effectively
- Applying structured frameworks to navigate high-stakes conversations with clarity and empathy
- Building confidence to address tensions within teams and stakeholder relationships
- Transforming conflict into an opportunity for stronger trust, alignment, and collaboration
Thank you to Helene Bertoneche for her guidance and all participants for their engagement throughout the session.
