Do you know the International Business Volunteering (V.I.E)?

The V.I.E. allows French companies to entrust a young person, aged 18 to 28, with a professional mission abroad during a flexible period of 6 to 24 months, renewable once within a limit of 2 years.

The V.I.E. is open to French citizens with the required age, of all levels of training, in good standing with their national service obligations, as well as to young nationals of the European Economic Area under the same conditions. These young people may already be graduates, in the course of studies, or have a first professional experience.

How is V.I.E a resource that combines all the advantages for companies?

  • A modular mission duration that adapts, to the nearest month, to the needs of the company

  • A public status for the International Volunteer, which exempts the company from all contractual links with the V.I.E. and from all social charges, and which provides the Volunteer with a protective framework: the V.I.E. is placed under the authority of the French Embassy abroad.

  • An attractive cost:

  •  the company can integrate the related expenses into a COFACE prospecting insurance contract (insurance covering the expenses generated by a prospection strategy abroad, in the event of commercial failure),

  • French regions or departments can sometimes give grants to SMEs

  • Administrative and legal management delegated to Business France which relieves the company of personnel management tasks: Business France proceeds, among other things, to the transfer of compensation (paid by the company) and takes out an insurance contract for social protection of all V.I.E.s

  • Short file processing times and online follow-up of V.I.E. files

  • Total control by the company of the choice of the International Volunteer and his operational activity

  • An alternative to the expatriation contract and local recruitment

  • The possibility of covering a geographical area (up to 8 countries) with a single volunteer thanks to the "regional V.I.E."

  • The possibility of staying in France for work-related missions (up to 183 days for 365 days of mission)
