How can managers turn financial information into better business decisions?
As part of the French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore (FCCS)Training Academy, the FCCS recently held a masterclass designed to help non-finance professionals move beyond reading financial statements and learn how to use them in everyday management decisions.
The training connected financial concepts to real-world situations, from pricing decisions and identifying cash-flow risks to presenting budgets and business cases
Across four pillars — The Language of Business, The Financial Narrative, Performance & Efficiency, and Strategic Influence — participants explored key financial metrics, financial statements, working capital, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis. The programme also addressed the difference between statutory reporting and management accounting, helping participants understand how financial information can support both compliance and business decision-making.
Through practical examples, “Manager’s Reality Check” insights and live case studies, attendees worked on interpreting financial statements, distinguishing profit from cash, assessing business performance and communicating financial insights with confidence.
A special thank you to Mathias Cheung, Founder, and Yeo Sen Poh, Trainer, from People Mindset Solution, for leading the session and sharing their expertise.
