Past Event | Fireside Chat: Le Louvre, challenges and perspectives
The French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore (FCCS) had the immense privilege of hosting Ms Laurence des Cars, President-Director of the Louvre Museum, for an exclusive fireside chat during her visit to Singapore.
Held in the premises of AXA XL, the event welcomed a selected audience for an insightful morning of discussion, reflection, and exchange on the evolving role of museums in the 21st century.
The session opened with remarks by Ms Sylvie Gleises, CEO AXA XL Asia and President of the FCCS, who also moderated the conversation. Ms Laurence des Cars shared her strategic vision for the world’s most visited museum, offering firsthand insights into the contemporary challenges faced by cultural institutions today—from inclusivity and accessibility to digital transformation and international partnerships.
The fireside chat was followed by a dynamic Q&A session, allowing attendees to engage directly with Ms. des Cars on topics ranging from curatorial decisions to the role of museums in cultural diplomacy.
A heartfelt thank you to Ms Laurence des Cars for her time and inspiring leadership, and to all our guests for their enthusiastic participation.
A special thank you to AXA XL for their generous support in organising and hosting this exceptional event.
