Past Event | Future of Maritime Workforce: Crew Welfare in a Changing Industry
Crew welfare at sea is a broad and evolving topic, our panel explored it from every angle. Our Maritime & Offshore Committee session on the Future of Maritime Workforce brought together Melvin Tan(IEC Telecom), Alexis Turmel (Socatra Singapore), Fabien Lecuona (Azura), and Lee Chee Seong (Singapore Maritime Employers Federation) for a wide-ranging discussion on what supports seafarers today.
The conversation touched on connectivity onboard, recruitment and retention, family life, recognition, and safety culture at sea. A recurring theme: technology can help reduce isolation, but trust, recognition, and time away from the vessel matter just as much to a fulfilling life at sea.
