Past Event | Government Affairs Club Roundtable Discussion: Best Practices in KPI & Reporting

The French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore hosted the fourth session of the Government Affairs Club, which featured an insightful roundtable discussion onBest Practices in KPI & Reporting.

During this closed-door session, representatives from STMicroelectronics, L’Oréal, Danone, ENGIE, Veolia, and Opella shared their current KPI frameworks and the specific methodologies they use to translate complex legislative and regulatory progress into meaningful updates for their management teams, as well as the challenges they navigate.

Key Takeaways:

  • Streamlining Executive Reporting: Participants highlighted a shared priority to transition away from long, data-dense regional reports in favour of concise, high-level dashboard snapshots for executive committees and senior leadership.

  • Measuring Strategic Value over Activity: Discussions emphasized moving beyond simple activity tracking toward multi-layered KPI frameworks to effectively capture strategic influence and tangible business impacts.

  • Leveraging Predictive Risk and Scenario Tools: To better navigate complex policy landscapes, public affairs teams are increasingly using prioritization matrices and scenario-planning tools. These frameworks help forecast the likelihood and impact of regulatory shifts, directly guiding corporate strategy and resource allocation.

  • Adopting Custom-Tailored Frameworks: Members of the Club agreed that there is no "one-size-fits-all" solution when building the ideal reporting framework, as reporting and KPI frameworks must be custom-adapted to each industry's realities.
