Event report
Past Event | Government Affairs Club Roundtable

Throwback to the second session of the French Chamber of Commerce’s Government Affairs Club, where we took a deep dive into the Impact of Tariffs on Business. In an era of cost inflation and supply chain uncertainty, the session provided a timely analysis of the systemic fragmentation currently affecting trade-dependent ASEAN economies, with a particular focus on Singapore.
The event featured a brilliant keynote by Prof. Cedomir Nestorovic, Professor of Geopolitics at ESSEC Business School, who led a high-level roundtable discussion on the shifting global order.
Key takeaways included:
The Nuance of Tariffs: Understanding how tariffs apply to companies according to their countries of origin.
Geopolitical Realignment: The evolving US-EU relationship, the role of MICTA middle powers, and the current strategic implications of US interests in Greenland.
Operational Resilience: Navigating ASEAN’s internal tensions and infrastructure gaps.
A special thank you to L’Oréal for hosting this insightful session and fostering such an engaging environment for our members.
