Past Event | Indo-Pacific Security Architecture: Implications for the French Industry

As the Indo-Pacific landscape continues to evolve, how can French industry players build resilient partnerships and seize new opportunities in the region? This was the central theme of our latest Aeronautics, Space, Defence & Security Committee session, where industry leaders gathered to examine the strategic implications of regional security developments for French companies operating in Southeast Asia.

Our sincere thanks to our speakers: Amine Chehri, Representative in Southeast Asia, GIFAS, Marc Caqueux, Senior Regional Sales Manager, Zodiac Milpro and Nicholas Shanglong Hong, Managing Director, Starburst

The discussion examined what remains constant across markets and what requires local adaptation, as well as how French companies can differentiate themselves in an increasingly competitive environment. Speakers reflected on the shifting nature of defence markets in the region, where countries are progressively moving beyond procurement towards greater sovereignty, including local manufacturing and maintenance capabilities. The conversation also touched on the challenge of maintaining long-term relevance once market entry has been achieved, and the important role that industry ecosystems and associations play in supporting that journey.
