Throwback on our latest Sustainable Business Committee event: ENGIE's Virtual Tour - Inside the REIDS-SPORE Green Energy Living Lab - sponsored by our Committee Partner ENGIE

A warm thank you to Lancine DOSSO, Projects & Strategic Partnerships/DEI, Floriane JACQUART, Asset Management & Operational Performance/ Sustainability - Regional Office  and Damien TOURNILLON, Senior Operation & Site Management at ENGIE, for sharing their invaluable insights on ENGIE’s REIDS-SPORE (Renewable Energy Integration Demonstrator Singapore) platform.

Located off the shore of Singapore in real, tropical conditions, this unique and award-winning energy demonstrator site is a critical "living lab" dedicated to accelerating the transition to a carbon-neutral economy.

It is the only microgrid testing facility of its kind off the Singapore mainland, recognized as the R&D Project of the Year in Asia in 2022. It is one of the only multi-fluid testing microgrids worldwide and is fully disconnected from the main grid, proving the viability of 100% renewable energy systems.

Through a virtual journey, participants gained insights into the facility’s rare and comprehensive technology range, including:

  • Physical Technologies: A 100 kW Wind Turbine, 200 kWp of PV Panels, a 200 kW∣600 kWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), and the region's only hydrogen Power-to-Power (H2 P2P) system (50 kW∣2 MWh) complete with a refuelling station for a Fuel Cell EV.

  • Smart Layers: Advanced software including ENGIE's proprietary Energy Management System (E.M.S.) for optimization, the Power Management System (P.M.S.) for stability, and the SCADA system for monitoring.
