Past Event| Site Visit with PSA Singapore - The World's Busiest Container Transshipment Hub

Our sincere thank you to Mr. Eugene Tay for hosting members of the French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore at PSA Singapore - the world’s busiest container transhipment hub.

After an interesting briefing by Eugene at the PSA Innovation Centre - a multimedia showcase of PSA’s next-generation port and wider supply chain ecosystem – as well as at the automated Crane Operations Centre, members also had the opportunity to enjoy a fantastic panoramic view of the Pasir Panjang Terminal at Visitors’ Gallery, and to visit the highly-automated Pasir Panjang Terminal.

Thanks to Eugene and his team for this fantastic tour and briefing as well as a very warm welcome to the members of the FCCS!

Highlights of the guided tour:

  • The PSA’s Innovation Centre: The automated Tuas Port, which plans to be fully completed from 2040, is expected to be the world’s largest fully automated terminal and will have a handling capacity of 65 million twenty-foot equivalent units. Tuas Port is a fully electrified facility and will have a 50% reduction in operational carbon.
  • Sustainability is at the heart of the PSA’s business ethos: Decarbonising the port operations and working towards carbon neutrality through:
    • conversion of diesel-powered equipment to electric-powered equipment lowers the carbon intensity by at least 30%
    • double the solar energy production to 12 GWh by 2022

This event was supported by our series partner CMA CGM.
