Past Event | The Future of Digital Assets: A Strategic Outlook

Ahead of the Singapore FinTech Festival 2025, throwback on our latest Financial & FinTech Committee meeting on The Future of Digital Assets, sponsored by our Committee Partner BNP Paribas.
A warm thank you to our esteemed speakers: Anand Jadhav, MD and Head APAC Cash Management Product and Implementation at BNP Paribas, Arthur Tricoire, Head of Sales APAC at Flowdesk, Eric Barbier, CEO of Triple-A, and to Aymeric Salley, Director Financial Services Advisory Fintech & Ventures at KPMG - for sharing their invaluable insights on the evolving digital asset landscape.
Key takeaways from the session included:
Risk Mitigation & Standards: To effectively manage the inherent risks of digital assets, there would be a need to establish a "SWIFT-like equivalent". Creating these common industry standards would enable secure, interoperability and responsible growth of the technology.
Traditional Bank Integration: Traditional banks are already building capabilities and are actively engaging on multiple digital asset initiatives. Panel experts foresee interest in stablecoins for cross border payments will accelerate and may meet market needs around payments and settlements.
Regulatory Clarity as a Catalyst: Continued progress and mainstream adoption are heavily dependent on achieving regulatory clarity. Clear, harmonized frameworks are crucial for building institutional trust and unlocking the next phase of substantial investment and innovation in the sector.
Singapore's Leadership: Singapore has solidified its position as a prime digital asset hub, benefiting from a deep talent pool and proactive regulatory frameworks. Digital assets are anticipated to drive substantial growth, particularly within the country's wealth management sector.
