- Title: Sante Accel boosts medtech innovation in Singapore
Sante Accel Singapore, a venture-building platform specializing in the healthcare sector, was launched on June 29, 2026 at the Singapore Medical Device Venture Showcase. This initiative is the result of a strategic partnership between Sante Ventures, a major US investment firm in life sciences, and SG Growth Capital, the investment arm of the Economic Development Board (EDB) and Enterprise Singapore.
Sante Ventures currently manages 960 million euros distributed across five funds and has created and invested in over 70 life sciences companies over the past two decades. The fund raised 289 million euros in October 2025 for its fifth round of financing, confirming its position as a leader in life sciences investment.
The partnership responds to growing demand for innovative medical technologies. This demand is driven by technological advances that expand possibilities for early diagnosis and personalized treatments, as well as growing pressures that aging populations place on healthcare systems.
Sante Accel Singapore aims to strengthen access to financing and venture-building talent for Singapore startups in the medtech, biotech and healthtech sectors. According to Ashley Seehusen, Chief Executive Officer of Sante Accel, the platform plans to invest several million euros in Singapore, with the goal of establishing at least four startups over the next three years.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy by the Singapore government to accelerate the translation of academic research into clinically viable and commercially competitive products. Singapore has over 400 medical technology companies (international and local), employing over 17,000 people. Medtech manufacturing output has skyrocketed since 2013, reaching 17.8 billion euros in 2024.
The MedTech Catapult of A*STAR complements this ecosystem by providing clinical and regulatory support, as well as a venture accelerator for emerging medtech companies. Additionally, the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) partners with Fogarty Innovation to strengthen regulatory capabilities, creating a more favorable environment for innovative medtech companies.
