Singapore Gallery Month made its grand return from 15 August to 13 September 2026, transforming galleries across the island into destinations for exploration and learning. Organized by the Art Galleries Association Singapore (AGAS), this annual event brought together galleries, artists, collectors and art enthusiasts through more than 100 exhibitions, talks, guided tours, workshops and specialized experiences.

The 2026 edition was built upon an ambitious goal: democratizing art collecting by eliminating psychological barriers. The festival offered opportunities at every level, from first steps into the art world to seasoned collectors, creating a space where learning to live with art was neither intimidating nor reserved for experts.

Among the highlights, Gillman Gatherings launched the festival on 15 August with free admission and open access for children and pets. Participants could browse between galleries at their own pace. The Art Therapy Workshop with The Red Pencil offered an interactive approach where visitors responded to displayed works through their own artistic creation, merging appreciation and introspection.

Collectors' Home Tours provided rare access to private collections of Singaporeans, accompanied by personal accounts from collectors themselves. Artist studio visits allowed exploration of the creative process, while Creators & Connoisseurs: A Speed Dating Soirée created rapid connections between enthusiasts and artists. Private advisory sessions with recognized experts, including the former director of the ArtScience Museum and specialists in contemporary Asian art, enabled participants to build their own collecting strategies.

Beautiful in Her Garden, featuring a contemporary Korean dance performance by studio Chum on 5 September, offered a new sensory experience at the heart of the galleries.
