Singapore’s lab-grown meat market expected to grow strongly through 2032

The lab-grown meat market in Singapore is rapidly expanding, with significant growth projected through 2032, according to a report published in February 2026 by MarkNtel Advisors. In 2025, the market size was estimated at approximately 48.6 M EUR, and it is expected to reach 112.8 M EUR by 2032, reflecting a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 16.75 % between 2026 and 2032. These projections highlight the strong momentum of the sector within Singapore’s broader food innovation landscape.
This growth is largely driven by Singapore’s favorable regulatory framework, as the country was among the first in the world to approve cultured meat for human consumption. This early regulatory approval, combined with strong public-private partnerships, has created a supportive ecosystem for research, commercialization, and technological advancement in alternative proteins. Singapore is positioning itself as a regional hub for food-tech innovation, attracting foreign direct investment, venture capital funding, and strategic collaborations between startups, multinational companies, and research institutions. As a land-scarce country highly dependent on food imports, Singapore views alternative proteins as a strategic pillar to strengthen food security, diversify supply sources, and enhance long-term sustainability.
Among market segments, cultured poultry (chicken, duck, quail) accounted for roughly 55 % of the market in 2025, while cell-based technology dominates production with around 70 % market share. Key players such as Eat Just, Shiok Meats, Vow, Meatable/TruMeat, PARIMA/Vital Meat, Meatiply, and Aleph Farms are actively involved in the local ecosystem, contributing to innovation, scaling strategies, and gradual cost optimization.
Despite these positive prospects, challenges remain, including high production costs, technological scaling constraints, and the need to increase consumer awareness and acceptance. Nevertheless, structured investments, a unique regulatory framework, and strong logistical infrastructure position Singapore to support the continued growth of lab-grown meat for both domestic consumption and regional export across Southeast Asia.
