WEBINAR: European Excellence in Sustainability sharing sessions: Sustainable Food & Nutrition

 

Apart from global trends arising from population growth, there are other important elements that should be addressed such as affordability. The Food and Agriculture Organization has classified the current time as a “new era of rising food prices and spreading hunger”. Food waste is amounting up to a 1/3rd of all food produced around the world, diets are becoming unhealthier, supply chains are continuously changing and our water supplies increasingly afflicted.

In this webinar on Sustainable Food & Nutrition,  three representatives from European companies: Pascal DE PETRINI, Senior Vice President Chairman Asia, Danone Petra DEKKER, Corporate Manager Nutrition & Health, FrieslandCampina and Roshith RAJAN, Director, Corporate Responsibility, Asia Pacific, SODEXO presented their sustainability initiatives and projects. Following the presentation, the speakers were joined by Melanie LEVINE, Associate, Global Agribusiness Alliance (GAA), World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and Bettina HUDRY-GEREZ, Business Development Director, Alcimed to share their knowledge and best practices. The discussion was moderated by Arijit CHATTERJEE, Associate Professor of Strategy, ESSEC Business School.
