The 4th edition of the Smarthealth Summit brought to the forefront critical issues that are shaping the healthcare landscape in Southeast Asia (SEA). The summit served as a platform for thought leaders and experts to delve deep into the topics of healthcare sovereignty, protectionism, and healthy aging, offering valuable insights and fostering meaningful discussions.
Key Themes:
Healthcare Sovereignty: The concept of healthcare sovereignty has gained prominence as nations strive to achieve self-sufficiency in delivering high-quality healthcare to their citizens. This imperative was explored in depth at the summit.
Protectionism: Globally, protectionist policies have emerged as a means to safeguard local healthcare industries from external competition. The summit examined the implications and consequences of such policies in the SEA region.
Healthy Aging: With an aging population comes an increased demand for healthcare services. The summit addressed the challenges and opportunities presented by the aging demographic, highlighting the potential for new technologies and innovations to meet the evolving needs of seniors.
The event commenced with opening remarks from esteemed guests: Her Excellency Ms. Minh-di TANG, French Ambassador in Singapore, and Ms Yan Yan HO, Regional Director Europe at Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB).
