AXA Insurance Enhances AXA SmartTraveller to Provide COVID-19 Coverage

AXA Insurance announced today the launch of its enhanced travel insurance offering, AXA SmartTraveller, with COVID-19 cover. Starting 1 December 2020, both existing and new AXA SmartTraveller customers will be covered by benefits for a range of situations arising from COVID-19 – overseas medical expenses, overseas hospitalisation allowance, overseas quarantine allowance, emergency medical evacuation and repatriation, pre-departure trip cancellations and postponement, and trip curtailment or rearrangement losses. This provides insurance coverage for some scenarios that have been excluded from travel insurance plans since the declaration of COVID-19 as a global pandemic.
