Explore how the maritime industry can support crew welfare, engagement, and wellbeing as working conditions and technologies continue to evolve.

The maritime workforce is evolving as the industry faces new operational, technological, and human challenges. Ensuring crew welfare is becoming increasingly important to attract and retain talent, support wellbeing, and maintain safe and effective operations.

This session will explore the different factors shaping crew welfare at sea, from working conditions and social connection to communication, connectivity, and access to support. The discussion will consider how technology can help reduce isolation and improve the day-to-day experience of seafarers, while also looking at the broader organisational and human aspects of life on board.

Bringing together perspectives from maritime industry professionals, the session will provide an opportunity to exchange experiences, discuss emerging challenges, and explore practical approaches to building a more connected, supportive, and resilient maritime workforce.
