Past Event | Inspirational Women Leaders' Series #18
For the 18th edition of Inspirational Women Leaders’, we had the pleasureof welcoming Charlotte Bonnet, Managing Director Singapore, Indonesia. Philippines and Cambodia at Chanel and Bérengère Roig, Founding Partner at LPA Singapore.
In an intimate and candid conversation moderated by Sandra Tang, ASEAN Managing Director & CEO at Publicis Re:sources, both leaders reflected on their personal journeys and challenges, highlighting the importance of trust in leadership, overcoming self-doubt, embracing curiosity, and fostering cultural awareness.
Key learnings:
- Leadership is about trust, not just expertise
Transitioning from a technical role to leadership requires more than just deep knowledge—you need to build trust with stakeholders and learn to balance both functional responsibilities and strategic vision
- Self-belief and mindset are crucial
One of the biggest challenges women face is internal—self-doubt and impostor syndrome. Success starts with confidence, being vocal about your strengths, and not holding yourself back.
- Growth comes from curiosity and collaboration
Strong leaders are confident in what they know and curious about what they don’t. Asking the right questions, trusting your team, and fostering a culture of learning are key to effective leadership.
- Embrace cultural awareness and ground-level leadership
In multicultural environments, humility, curiosity, and presence are vital. Building relationships, working alongside your team, and showing genuine commitment help earn respect and trust.
- Leadership is a journey, not a destination
There’s no “final” version of a leader—you must constantly evolve, set boundaries, and enjoy the journey. Leadership involves hard work and sacrifice, but also self-awareness, growth, and fulfillment.
