The session explored why AI has become a strategic imperative for manufacturers, as industrial AI reaches a tipping point driven by data availability, advanced analytics, and generative AI. Speakers highlighted how AI is now a powerful lever to drive higher operational performance across production, quality, maintenance, and energy management.
Discussions also focused on how companies can successfully structure themselves to deploy AI, covering data foundations, organizational readiness, and cross-functional collaboration. A key insight was that over 95% of AI pilot projects fail to scale, underlining the importance of clear business use cases, strong governance, and change management to maximize success.The panel further addressed the impact of AI on jobs and talent strategies, emphasizing the need for proactive upskilling, reskilling, and leadership development to support sustainable industrial transformation.
