Past Event | Inspirational Women Leaders Series - Own Your Career Path

We were delighted to welcome our esteemed speakers, Daniela Lamm, Head of International Business Growth APAC at Airbus, and Josephine Ong, Cities & Public Services Industry Vice President at Dassault Systems, for the 21st edition of our Inspirational Women Leaders’ Series.

A heartfelt thank you to Daniela and Josephine for their inspiring and energetic contributions, sharing both their career highlights and the challenges they have overcome.

Our sincere thanks as well to Marine Veillon, Co-Founder at Better Futures, for skilfully moderating the session

Please find below some key takeaways from the discussion:

1. Own Your Career Path
Careers are rarely linear, expect change and uncertainty. Good work alone is not enough; visibility and self-advocacy matter. Step beyond your defined role, seek exposure to senior leadership, and pursue opportunities proactively. Progress comes from action, not perfection.

2. Lead Authentically and Adaptively
There is no single leadership style. Strong leaders adapt to their teams while staying true to themselves. Women do not need to conform to traditional leadership models, empathy, vulnerability, and emotional intelligence are strengths. Trust your team, avoid micromanagement, and focus on coaching and empowerment.

3. Navigate Barriers with Allies and Confidence
Bias and stereotypes still shape perceptions of women in leadership. Building allies and advocates is essential. Leaders must learn to communicate strategically, manage perceptions, and challenge rigid mindsets without being afraid to stand out.

4. Sustain Success Through Support and Well-Being
Senior roles demand resilience, strong organization, and a reliable support system. Building internal relationships is critical, but so is protecting emotional well-being. Long-term leadership success depends on balance, self-awareness, and prioritizing personal fulfillment.

5. Empower the Next Generation
Progress has been made, especially in recent years, but continued effort is needed. Mentorship, active allyship from men, and structured empowerment programs are key. Every individual must define their own path without comparison, supported by a culture that challenges stereotypes and encourages growth.
