Dr Robert Yap is the Executive Chairman of YCH Group and a leading force in advancing regional supply chain connectivity. A strong advocate for resilient, technology-driven logistics networks, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the region’s trade landscape.

His Asset Right Strategy™ has driven the development of world-class logistics hubs, including DistriPark®, Fusionaris®, and Supply Chain City®. To strengthen ASEAN trade and connectivity, he spearheaded SGConnect™ and the ASEAN Smart Logistics Network (ASLN), leading to landmark projects like Vietnam SuperPort™. Under his leadership, YCH now operates in 100 locations across 15 countries, employing over 6,000 people.

His influence extends beyond logistics. With 21 years at the ASEAN-Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC), Dr Yap has played a key role in shaping regional economic policies and trade initiatives. As ASEAN-BAC Chair in 2007, he launched the ASEAN Business Awards (ABA) to recognise outstanding enterprises, and in 2018, he introduced SGConnect™, a legacy project enhancing ASEAN’s logistics capabilities and cross-border trade. Through SCALA (Supply Chain and Logistics Academy), he has trained over 800 logistics professionals in Vietnam and Cambodia.

A recipient of multiple business accolades, including The ASEAN Outstanding Logistics Entrepreneur Excellence Award (2025), The Distinguished Service (Star) Award at the NTUC May Day Awards (2025), Businessman of the Year at the Singapore Business Awards (2016), the NUS Eminent Business Alumni Award (2014), and EY Entrepreneur of the Year (2007), Dr Yap is an alumnus of Harvard Business School and serves as a Professor of Practice at Zhejiang International Business School. His leadership continues to shape ASEAN’s logistics, trade, and economic resilience.
