Join us to discuss balancing rising medical costs with competitive employee benefits

Medical inflation in Singapore continues to outpace both wage growth and general inflation, driven by an ageing workforce, rising hospitalisation costs, chronic disease prevalence, and growing demand for mental health support. For HR and Finance leaders, the equation has become increasingly difficult: how do you keep premiums sustainable without eroding the benefits that attract and retain talent?

This session will bring together insurance and HR perspectives to give employers a clear, actionable view of what's happening in the market, and what to do about it.

On the insurance side, Laurent (Cem) Genc, Head of Distribution Asia at APRIL International, will share the latest medical inflation data across Singapore and the wider Asia region, unpack the key cost drivers behind renewal, and walk through the concrete levers employers can use to contain premiums - from plan design and prevention programmes to data-driven renewal strategies.

On the HR side, Anika Kneifel, Regional Human Resources Director (APAC) at Arvato and Riyashy Mohamed, Head of Rewards SEA & Travel Retail APAC at L’Oréal, will share a candid, first-hand account of how rising premiums have impacted their benefits budget, the trade-offs they've had to make (employee contribution, coverage adjustments, wellness reallocation), and, critically, how they communicated those changes internally without damaging trust or engagement.
