Did you know that half of the world population will be myopic by 2050?
Also known as nearsightedness, myopia has become a widespread issue among Singaporean children and young adults. By 2050, the MOH (Ministry Of Health in Singapore) projected that "80 to 90% of all Singaporean adults [...] will be myopic and 15 to 25% of these individuals may have high myopia". Singapore is therefore referred to as the world capital of myopia.
At the forefront of myopia research and product development, 50 scientists and engineers from EssilorLuxottica with combined expertise in vision science, optometry, clinical investigations, material science, and advanced lens prototyping are shaping the next generation of myopia management solutions and supporting the Group’s mission to enable people to “see more, be more.”
