AXA Insurance Singapore Claims Triple Win at the Insurance Asia Awards 2019

AXA Insurance Singapore has been honoured with three awards at the recent Insurance Asia Awards 2019

AXA Insurance Singapore has been honoured with three awards at the recent Insurance Asia Awards 2019 which recognises Asia’s most outstanding insurance companies that have successfully risen above challenges and made the most of the opportunities in the industry. AXA was lauded for its efforts to empower people in Singapore to live better lives through product excellence, innovation and community engagement and outreach.

“We are grateful to have won top honours at the Insurance Asia Awards 2019 which is an acknowledgement of our commitment to serve the needs of people in Singapore where we have been present for over the past 50 years. At AXA, putting the customer first is one of our core values and we are proud to be on a transformation journey, from being a payer to an encouraging partner who helps them feel more confident to achieve their goals and go further,” said Jean Drouffe, Chief Executive Officer, AXA Insurance Singapore.

AXA was awarded International Life Insurer of the Year – Singapore for its outstanding customer-centric initiatives and solutions in four key areas—critical illness, medical coverage, retirement & legacy planning and high net worth—as part of its firm commitment to be an empowering partner to its customers. This includes gender-specific critical illness insurance plans, AXA CritiCare for Her and AXA CritiCare for Him, for which it donates $10 to the Singapore Cancer Society for every policy sold, and its industry-first offering of a panel of General Practitioners (in addition to Specialists) with discounted consultation fees for customers. Beyond meeting the protection needs of Singaporeans, AXA also seeks to cater to the wealth management and legacy planning needs of Singapore’s increasingly affluent and greying population with AXA Wealth Accelerate launched for the mass market and AXA Private Wealth Variable Universal Life (VUL) and AXA Privilege Wealth VUL developed for the high net worth market.

The company was also lauded for taking its digital-first approach to insurance to the next level, earning the Digital Insurance Initiative of the Year – Singapore award for its self-service digital platform, AXA Affiliates. The innovative one-stop platform enables partners with complementary offerings to easily integrate AXA’s insurance solutions within their websites or apps. It opens up access to AXA’s insurance solutions, and caters to digital players who face resource and cost constraints but are looking to enrich their customer value proposition and generate additional revenue.

In addition to being recognised for its customer-centric and innovative offerings, AXA also clinched the CSR Initiative of the Year – Singapore award for its commitment to be a responsible corporate citizen. In view of the significant 80% critical illness (CI) protection gap in Singapore amounting to over $500 billion, as found in the Life Insurance (LIA) Singapore’s 2018 Protection Gap Study, AXA took steps to narrow the protection gap and in turn improve the lives of Singaporeans through a CI campaign. It sought to achieve this by educating and empowering Singaporeans to recognise and manage their CI risks through the sharing of research insights, and by engaging the public to raise awareness of this topic while encouraging them to partner AXA in doing good with the AXA Bounce for Good Challenge in support of its partners Singapore Cancer Society and SportCares.
