Highly anticipated Singapore Tower by Bjarke Ingels Group and Carlo Ratti Associati nears completion

Dragages Singapore is a proud collaborator of this project between BIG and CRA.

Bjarke Ingels’ highly anticipated first building in Singapore, is finally starting to take shape! At 280 meters tall (51 storeys), the building is already reshaping the Singapore skyline and is set to tie two other buildings for the three second tallest skyscrapers in Singapore. Named CapitaSpring, the building is being developed by Singaporean developer CapitaLand, who has an impressive track record of design excellence and completed another nearby office tower designed by Toyo Ito.

The defining feature of the building is it’s skygardens, which are revealed by peeling open the otherwise conventional facade. BIG founder Bjarke Ingels described the tower, saying that “at multiple elevations, the facade peels open to reveal urban oases for its users and the surrounding city – animating the elegant smoothness of modern architecture with the ubiquitous tropical nature”

Scheduled to be completed later this year, the mixed use building will contain office space, residential apartments, and a food centre. The sheltered public park at ground level and sky gardens at multiple levels were designed by Carlo Ratti Associati.
