Smart Health Asia 2026 took place on 1-2 July 2026 at Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre in Singapore, attracting over 3,000 visitors from across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. This inaugural event brought together global leaders and innovators to discuss the digital transformation of regional healthcare systems.
Participants held nearly 2,000 business meetings, underscoring the growing importance of investment and leadership in digital health. The digital healthcare market in Asia-Pacific is expected to reach approximately 438 billion euros by 2033, reflecting the urgency of modernizing healthcare infrastructure.
A central theme emerged: placing people at the centre rather than technology. Colin Lim, Chief Information Officer of Singapore's Ministry of Health, emphasized that building trust means placing people at the centre and ensuring that the solutions and AI systems we use put people first, not technology.
The region faces major demographic challenges. By 2050, one in four people in Asia-Pacific will be over 60 years old, placing immense pressure on healthcare systems. However, adoption of digital solutions remains slow: only 25% of hospitals in Singapore and China use digital tools for diagnosis or remote monitoring.
The exhibition floor presented concrete innovations. Stryker unveiled AI-assisted tools to help surgeons. Singapore General Hospital showcased smartphone applications for infant screening and cardiac monitoring technologies without expensive equipment.
The conference highlighted the region's transition: moving from isolated pilot projects toward a connected, data-driven infrastructure that will define the region's future. Smart Health Asia 2027 will take place on 7-8 July 2027, with the launch of Smart Pharma Asia.
