Sustainability-tech start-up, TablePointer, raises $3m from Wavemaker Partners, AgFunder, and ENGIE in seed funding

TablePointer Pte Ltd (“TablePointer”), a fast growing Energy-Efficiency-as-a-Service (EEaaS) start-up, has raised more than $3 million in an oversubscribed seed funding round led by Wavemaker Partners, AgFunder, and ENGIE.

The Singapore-based company provides plug-and-play energy efficiency technology, especially for the food and beverage industry, with an innovative zero upfront costs approach.

Jason Tang, CEO of TablePointer, announced plans to continue expanding the company's technology platform with new funding. The funding will be used to add new features, product modules and enter fast-growing markets in the region.

Steve Melhuish, Chairman of TablePointer and Founding Partner, Wavemaker Impact noted that, “The F&B industry has been slow to adopt sustainability solutions due to perceived lack of rapid ROI. TablePointer addresses this problem by offering a plug-and-play solution that provides immediate tangible savings and significant reduction in greenhouse emissions - without any upfront costs. This has led to fast adoption by both small independent outlets, as well as some of the largest most recognizable F&B chain brands. We’re excited to support TablePointer as they continue their impressive growth journey.”

“TablePointer has a first mover, leadership advantage in the highly fragmented $20 billion Asian energy efficiency market. Their easy-to-deploy technology stack, and scalable SaaS model not only makes them a compelling partner for enterprises everywhere seeking to achieve energy savings and efficiency, but also a perfect addition to our AgFunder SIJ Impact Fund portfolio. We are looking forward to supporting Jason and his team as they help companies across Asia manage their energy use and deliver tangible environmental impact,” says Angela Tay, Senior Investment Associate, AgFunder Asia.

Thomas Baudlot, CEO for Energy Solutions APAC and Country Head for Southeast Asia, ENGIE South East Asia says, “TablePointer's Energy-Efficiency-as-a-Service model helps food and beverage businesses manage their energy consumption while reducing their carbon footprint by eliminating the need for costly and complex facility upgrades, leading to optimal savings. This allows businesses to stay competitive while contributing to climate change efforts. TablePointer’s business model is aligned with ENGIE’s mission to accelerate Southeast Asia’s energy transition towards carbon neutrality while ensuring it remains affordable and sustainable.”

TablePointer's efforts to increase energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions are having a significant positive impact on the environment. By helping its customers reduce their energy consumption, TablePointer is helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and combat climate change with a strong commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
