Balasubramaniam Selvam is the Regional Security Manager at International SOS.

Bala, Regional Security Manager, at International SOS, brings over 15 years of APAC expertise in crisis management, business continuity, and high-security operations. Based in Singapore, he leads security consulting and travel risk and crisis management training for multinational corporations, NGOs, and diverse sectors. Bala’s notable achievements include leading crisis responses during the recent Sri Lanka and Bangladesh riots and curfews, as well as designing high-security facilities in Singapore, Sri Lanka, and Papua New Guinea. Previously serving as regional lead for Security and Crisis Management at John Wiley & Sons, he ensured the safety, security, and resilience of personnel and assets across the APAC region, particularly during the challenging days of the COVID-19 pandemic. His background spans military service, law enforcement, corporate security, and global events like the Formula One race series. As an ACTA-certified trainer, Bala has trained executives in technology, hospitality, and manufacturing on crisis management and security protocols across the Philippines, South Korea, and Thailand. Bala is an accredited Project Manager Professional (PMP ®) and Certified Protection Professional (CPP®). He holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) with the University of Manchester and a Specialist Diploma (with Merit) in Security Consultancy with Temasek Polytechnic.
