As climate issues intensify, investing in carbon capture infrastructure and natural capital emerges as a critical solution

Singapore is well-positioned as a project development and financing hub to serve growing renewable markets in APAC. In recent years, there has been a growing demand for investments in solutions such as renewable energy and carbon capture.

Carbon capture infrastructure includes a range of technologies that capture, store, and utilise CO2 emissions. If not being used on-site, the captured CO2 is compressed and transported to be used in a range of applications or injected into deep geological formations such as depleted oil and gas reservoirs or saline aquifers. Though it has been below expectations in the past, momentum has grown substantially in recent years.

Nature-based solutions, however, remain as the main carbon storage solutions, providing promising avenues in this endeavor and leveraging the power of ecosystems to sequester carbon effectively. The Asia-Pacific region, renowned for its diverse landscapes and rich biodiversity, presents a significant opportunity for implementing and scaling up nature-based carbon capture initiatives. These initiatives are essential for achieving climate targets.

In this committee meeting, join us to discover the advancements on carbon capture technologies and nature-based solutions exploring market opportunities and investment strategies in Singapore and in the region with our panelists paving the way for a carbon-neutral future.
