Bureau Veritas named a 'specialist' for ESG and sustainability services by independent research firm

Bureau Veritas has been recognized by research and advisory firm, Verdantix, as a “specialist” for environmental, social and governance (ESG) services and sustainability consulting services. The firm also listed Bureau Veritas in its latest report, Green Quadrant: ESG & Sustainability Consulting 2024.

The report provides a detailed fact-based comparison of the most prominent ESG and sustainability consulting firms. It assessed 17 ESG and sustainability consulting firms and their capabilities. Verdantix’s research included two-hour live briefings; client interviews and consulting firm responses to a detailed 72-point questionnaire.

According to the Verdantix’s Green Quadrant analysis, Bureau Veritas’ strengths are:

  • Granular sustainability expertise, along with understanding of the ESG market at scale

Through a combination of its testing, inspection, and certification (TIC) capabilities, and its size and scope, Bureau Veritas’s ESG and sustainability offering is differentiated by its ability to provide local context and expertise, whilst also being able to understand the sustainability market at scale. Our offering demonstrates particular strengths in the fields of regulatory compliance and supply chain management. Bureau Veritas also exhibits capabilities to determine the impact of clients’ ESG actions by making these traceable and visible.

  • Transparent reporting and localized operational transformation support

Bureau Veritas’s strongest scores are in operational transformation, and data management, reporting and disclosures. Our understanding of local context, enabling the company to more effectively approach operational transformation engagements – especially in the light of rapidly changing regulations – enriches the Group’s sustainability offerings. Our TIC heritage also enables us to focus on transparency for reporting.

  • Support for medium-sized and small firms at the beginning of their ESG journeys

With significant experience with firms that are part of larger, more complex supply chains, Bureau Veritas is well-suited to assist medium-sized and small firms that are looking for alignment against client commitments, standards, and expectations, through gap and readiness assessments. Bureau Veritas should also be considered by large firms operating in global networks that need in-field reporting and implementation consulting services, for example, to address issues of worker rights and modern slavery within the supply chain. The provider can deploy people to 140 countries in the world to improve sustainability performance, giving it a unique ability to work both granularly and at scale.
