Chanel Singapore and EDP Partner to Power Local Operations with 100% Renewable Energy

Chanel Singapore and EDP, through EDP Renewables APAC, are proud to announce a 5-year Virtual Power Purchase Agreement (vPPA) to deliver solar energy from a portfolio of rooftop installations, powering all of Chanel’s local operations with clean electricity.

Beginning in 2024, the agreement also includes the purchase of Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) associated with the solar energy to verify and account for the clean energy generated.

This agreement supports Chanel’s commitment to using 100% renewable electricity across its own operations by the end of 2025, and is part of Chanel’s ongoing work to reach its net-zero emissions targets by 2040. Chanel remains one of the few luxury companies with net-zero targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

The Agreement is a meaningful step not just for Chanel but for Singapore’s broader energy transition. The vPPA brings certified renewable electricity to the grid and helps expand access to clean energy infrastructure.
