ENGIE and Singapore Pools Partner on Landmark Brownfield District Cooling Project

ENGIE has been appointed by Singapore Pools as the Cooling Partner for a landmark brownfield District Cooling System (DCS) project in Singapore.

The partnership was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding signed by Jacques Boonen of ENGIE and Chee Weng Lam of Singapore Pools, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing sustainable cooling solutions for existing developments.

Aligned with Singapore’s push for centralised cooling infrastructure, the collaboration will explore a distributed district cooling network tailored to high-density urban environments. Leveraging ENGIE’s global expertise in designing and operating district cooling systems, the project aims to address the challenges of retrofitting existing buildings while enabling scalable Cooling-as-a-Service (CaaS) solutions.

The initiative is expected to support building owners in reducing carbon emissions, improving energy efficiency, and advancing their ESG objectives, while contributing to the broader adoption of sustainable cooling technologies across Singapore’s urban landscape.
