Mistral AI to Acquire Emmi AI to Expand Physics AI Capabilities for Industry

Mistral AI has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Emmi AI, a company specialising in physics AI for industrial applications.

The acquisition supports Mistral AI’s strategy to develop advanced AI systems for engineering and manufacturing by extending its models’ capabilities to understand and simulate physical systems, while enabling AI agents to interact with existing engineering tools.

Emmi AI is recognised for its expertise in Physics AI and large engineering models, providing solutions that help industrial companies accelerate engineering workflows, shorten product design cycles, replace time-intensive computations with real-time simulations, and develop digital twins to optimise operations.

As part of the transaction, Emmi AI’s 35-person team, including its co-founders, will join Mistral AI in May 2026. The integration is expected to strengthen Mistral AI’s industrial AI offering and support the development of a fully integrated AI stack for engineering applications.
