Did you know about Singapore’s commitment to achieve 80% of green certified buildings by 2030 ?

In recent years, Singapore government has been strongly promoting sustainable initiatives regarding buildings construction, in accordance with ambitious “Green plan 2030” targets, pledging for environmentally sustainable and energy-efficient buildings, enabling comfortable and healthy indoor environment for occupants : Green 80% of Singapore’s buildings (by Gross Floor Area) by 2030; 80% of new buildings (by Gross Floor Area) to be Super Low Energy buildings from 2030; Best-in-class green buildings to see an 80% improvement in energy efficiency by 2030.

As part of sustainable initiatives, it also launched in 2005 the “Green Mark” certification, a rating system designed to assess building’s environmental impact and performance based on several criteria : Climatic responsive design, Building energy performance, Resources stewardship , Smart and healthy building, Advance green efforts.

In early 2000’s, Singapore government started to work closely with the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), an agency under the Singaporean Ministry of National Development, to shape the landscape to prepare for the future of Singapore by  providing grants and tax incentives for developers and building owners who incorporate green features into their buildings.

Join us at the BCA Academy Campus for an exclusive tour of 2 pilot green buildings :

  • Zero Energy Building : achieving positive energy efficiency in 2022, thanks to smart technologies (AI engine) implementation
