Club Med Redefines the All-Inclusive Model with Premium Expansion Strategy

Big news! Club Med has made the TIME100 Most Influential Companies in the category of innovation.
Club Med is reshaping the traditional all-inclusive resort model, moving beyond its historic positioning of beach holidays and buffet-style experiences toward a more premium, experience-driven offering.
Since pioneering the all-inclusive concept in 1950, the group has spent the past two decades transitioning upmarket, phasing out midscale properties to focus exclusively on higher-end resorts. This evolution includes expansion into more complex segments, notably mountain destinations, which now represent around 35% of its global business with more than 20 resorts across Europe, Asia, and North America.
With nearly 60 resorts in 40 countries and over 1.5 million guests in 2024, Club Med continues to diversify its portfolio. A key upcoming milestone is the launch of its first South African resort in 2026, combining beach and safari experiences on the Dolphin Coast.
This strategic shift reflects a broader ambition to deliver fully integrated, hard-to-replicate travel experiences, positioning the brand at the forefront of the premium all-inclusive segment.
