Do you know about the International Corporate Volunteer Program (V.I.E) in Singapore?

The V.I.E (Volontariat International en Entreprise) program allows a French company to send a young European professional aged 18 to 28, abroad, for a 6 to 24-month assignment. Managed by Business France, this public scheme is a unique springboard for an international career. 

 

A simplified framework in Singapore 

Thanks to a bilateral agreement between France and Singapore, administrative procedures are now smoother: 

  • Recognition of the monthly V.I.E allowance as a sufficient salary level; 

  • The end of the requirement to hold a Bachelor's degree or higher;   

  • The end of the requirement to have a minimum professional experience;   

  • A quota of 300 V.I.E.s in Singapore at any one time, is authorised. 

Volunteers are granted an Employment Pass (EP) up to 24 months issued by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM). 

 

A secure and attractive status 

The V.I.E enjoys a status that guarantees full social protection (health, accident, repatriation) and exempts companies from social security charges. The monthly allowance received by the volunteer is generally exempt from local taxation, in accordance with the France–Singapore tax treaty. 

 

Reciprocity and openness 

As part of the bilateral agreement, French companies are encouraged to publish internship opportunities in France for a period of 2 to 6 months open to Singaporeans promoting a balanced exchange of talents between the two countries.

  • Creation of a suitable structure (subsidiary or representative office) in Singapore; 

  • Search for candidates for the V.I.E. assignment; 

  • Work pass application procedure for your V.I.E; 

  • Hosting your V.I.E in our Business Centre, a welcoming environment at the heart of the Franco-Singaporean business community, and a mentor (“tuteur”), a dedicated member of our team responsible for welcoming volunteers to our offices and supporting them throughout their assignment; 

  • Coaching Service Workshops for the V.I.E offered by the Team France Export.
