Keppel names Piyush Gupta as chairman to succeed Danny Teoh

He was previously the CEO of DBS and currently serves as Keppel’s deputy chairman.
Keppel Ltd. has announced that Piyush Gupta will be appointed non-executive Chairman and Independent Director following the retirement of Chairman Danny Teoh.
The appointment will take effect after the company’s annual general meeting on 17 April, by which time Teoh will have served as a director of Keppel for over 15 years and as Chairman for five years since April 2021.
Gupta was appointed deputy chairman and a non-executive independent director on 1 July 2025.
He is also a member of Keppel’s Nominating, Remuneration, and Board Sustainability and Safety Committees, and will continue to serve on these committees.
Meanwhile, he was previously the ceo of DBS Group Holdings from November 2009 until his retirement in March 2025.
He also holds other roles, including chairman of Singapore Management University’s Board of Trustees, chairman of Mandai Park Holdings, advisor and non-executive chairman (India) at Temasek International Advisors, and alternate member of the Council of Presidential Advisers.
