UOB partners SMF to launch Johor–Singapore Special Economic Zone (JSSEZ) Playbook

UOB has partnered with the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) to launch the Johor–Singapore Special Economic Zone (#JSSEZ)Playbook, marking a key milestone in its collaboration with SMF. The initiative is enabled by close cooperation between UOB teams in Singapore and Malaysia, aimed at strengthening cross-border supply chain connectivity under the JS-SEZ.

The playbook serves as a practical guide for manufacturers to assess readiness, evaluate strategic plans and identify actionable steps to translate cross-border ambitions from vision to the factory floor. It offers fresh insights and practical recommendations on:

  • Leveraging the SETUP framework as a strategic decision-making blueprint for entering the JS-SEZ

  • Building an end-to-end financial architecture across corporate, workforce and individual needs

  • Engineering future-ready, digitally connected factories that are scalable and resilient

“As supply chain and operational pressures intensify, diversifying operations is essential and the JS-SEZ offers the ecosystem to strengthen efficiency and resilience, enabling regional growth and competitiveness,” said Jimmy Koh, Group Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Advisory’s Head of Network Partnerships and Strategic Marketing, at the Manufacturing Day Summit (#MDS2026) organised by SMF.

Together with leaders from SMF, Enterprise Singapore, the Malaysian Investment Development Authority and the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturing (FMM), discussions highlighted how the JS-SEZ can drive the next wave of regional manufacturing growth.
