Singapore imports over 90% of its food supply but has set a goal to reduce this dependence to 70% by 2030. However, local meat production remains a major challenge due to limited space and structural constraints associated with intensive farming. As a result, chicken is the only meat produced on a significant scale in the country, with domestic production accounting for about a quarter of total chicken consumption.
