Attention all food lovers: discover an array of exciting food products from 8 countries at this inaugural Sustainable Food Market!

So Chic is pleased to invite you to join us for a first-time Sustainable Food Market organized in partnership with the Group of the Ambassadors of the Francophonie in Singapore. Come & Join us at our Partner Venue EHL Campus (Singapore) to taste tantalising samples from Canada, Egypt, France, Georgia, Mexico, Romania, Rwanda and Switzerland.

Home chefs can also look forward to workshops conducted by professionals, where they will have the chance to expand their culinary repertoire, and learn more about the various sustainable products used in the demonstration.

In addition to an exclusive Food Market selection ( cheeses, caviar, coffee, oysters, spices, vegetables, specialty dishes, local juices & much more from all 8 countries ), here is a snap-shot of the workshops:

MORNING
10AM - 10.45AM: Chocolate & Coffee

To satisfy your sweet tooth, try out this chocolate and coffee pairing! French chocolatier Laurent Bernard will take you on an extraordinary journey to the ‘heart of chocolate’; alongside, a Rwandan coffee pairing will also offer the chance for you to glean insights as to why your taste buds like chocolate and coffee so much.
11AM - 11.45AM: Oysters & Gin
We can’t wait for you to experience the legendary taste profile of Geay Oysters from Marennes-Oléron’s (South of France), a region renowned for its delicious oysters. They will be paired with Canadian gin from Ginealogy, a boutique distributor of premium craft spirits from the heart of Québec, Canada. You’re in for a treat!
AFTERNOON SESSION
1.30PM - 2.15PM: Seafood & Plant-based pea-panneer
Chef at the official residence of the High Commissioner of Canada, Anand Kumar, will be conducting a workshop utilising the tantalising lobsters from New Brunswick, and tasty Canadian R&D-ed plant-based pea-paneer from Herbyvore! In this live demonstration, you’ll learn about new and dynamic ways to prepare scrumptious dishes!
2.30PM - 3.15PM: Egyptian desserts
Chef Khaled will be preparing “Om Ali” - meaning “Mother of Ali”. As one of the national desserts of Egypt, this dish is as meaningful as it is traditional.

 

The Sustainable Market is free and open to the public - strictly By Registration Only (please note that non- registered participants will be turned away, in order not to violate prevailing SMMs).
