Our ESSEC-FCCS Leadership series is back with a focus on The Return of Asia. Join us to discuss the competition between Singapore and Hong Kong

The competition between Singapore and Hong Kong is long-standing, rooted in their history as former British colonies and their competing roles as financial centers in Asia.

The pandemic has intensified this rivalry, with many businesses and individuals moving to Singapore as an alternative location for their operations. This has led to a series of events, including increased investment in Singapore, relocation of businesses, and tourism competition.

In this first installment of our ESSEC-FCCS Leadership series – The Return of Asia, Prof. Jamus Lim, Associate Professor of Economics at ESSEC Business School, will host a panel of industry speakers to discuss:

- The key areas of strength and weakness for each city

- The various policy approaches and how both cities vie for dominance in the region's financial and tech sectors

- The geopolitical factors and how these are influencing the decisions of companies considering relocating to one city or the other

- Future outlook: the panel will offer their predictions and insights on the future of the Hong Kong-Singapore rivalry, including which city will likely emerge as the dominant player in the years to come.

- Anne Tan, Head of HR at Campari

- Pascal Lambert, Executive Director at Crossroads Advisory
