Wine descriptions

1. Pomerol Chateau Taillefer 2014 - Retail price $72.00/bottle

Wine Region: Bordeaux - France

Grape: Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot

Tasting notes: Spicy and fruity aromas. This wine presents beautiful tannins, with fruity notes dominated by fresh blackcurrant.

About the winery:
Chateau Taillefer was founded by Antoine Moeix, a wine merchant, in 1923. Located on the Pomerol plateau, the 12-hectare vines grow in one piece around the Chateau. Today, the vineyard is still in the family, who carry on the know-how of their ancestors with passion and humility, and an environmental approach.

2. Domaine Goichot Bourgogne "Les Guignottes" 2019 - Retail Price $49.00/bottle

Wine Region: Burgundy - France

Grape: Pinot Noir

Tasting notes :

About the winery :
Founded in 1947 close to Meursault, this thriving family company took a great step forward in 2000 by building new premises near Beaune. "Even though our eyes are turned towards the future, we have a deep respect for tradition." A careful tasting and selection of each wine has been carried out by Andre Goichot himself.
The whole harvest is vinified, matured, bottled and marketed at Andre Goichot winehouse. This success story bears witness to Andre Goichot's commitment in creating a future for the company.

3. Le P'tit Domaine Saumur "Entre-deux-voyes" Chenin 2019 - Retail price $61.00/bottle

Wine Region: Loire-Valley - France

Grape: Chenin Blanc

Tasting notes: Sensual, aromatic notes of caramelized pear, golden apple, baked quince, and lemon. More nuances of baking spices, wet stones, and chamomile evolve with a little bit of air in the glass. The palate is generously textured, but distinctly racy and mineral.

About the winery:
Richard Desouche, the current vineyard manager of Clos Rougeard, found his vocation as a winemaker by creating his "P'tit Domaine". Richard created the Domaine in 2006, with 0.4ha of Cabernet Franc and 0.6ha of Chenin in the little village of Dampierre Sur Loire. In 2010, Richard managed to increase the domain size with 1.4ha of Cabernet Franc in Varrains and Dampierre Sur Loire. Finally, in 2016 he got the opportunity of owning 1.9ha of Cabernet Franc in Champigny. His domain is currently 4.5ha of vines.

4. Mark Haisma A Bogan in Bogandy 2018 - Retail price $67.00/bottle

Wine Region: Burgundy

Grape: Alignote, Chardonnay

Tasting notes: Underestimate Aligote, the ‘other’ white Burgundy grape variety, at your peril. Blended here with Chardonnay, the result is understated but wonderful, with steely freshness underpinned by super-pure orchard fruit and surprising complexity.

About the winery:

Mark Haisma was, for a decade, winemaker at Yarra Yerring with the late Dr Bailey Carrodus. Now he’s making his own wine, acting as one of a new breed of micronegociants in Burgundy. Mark buys grapes and makes wine from them in rented space in a cellar in Gevrey Chambertin (Pierre Naigeon’s).
